Unlike the states, there isn’t an either or situation and governments tend to last around ten years before people get fed up. So this was likely to happen regardless of the excited states, as it follows a pattern since the mid 20th century. There is hope if voters pay attention.

This sets up a chance for a minority government which was not the case if Trudeau remained leader. Also, the current Tory leader has a high personal dislike rating. Trudeau’s negative rating was higher in the last year, but with him gone, they need to deal with the fact the dog caught the car.

There is a third party NDP, that is more progressive than the liberals that hold seats and the Bloc Québécois is separatist and more socialist and Quebec in general really dislikes the Tory leader Poilievre. They even formed official opposition once because of the large number of seats.
