As Black History Month comes to a close, tune in to hear my remarks on the House Floor from July 2025 announcing the overdue exoneration of the Port Chicago 50:
(2/2)
Following years of advocating for the Port Chicago 50, one of my proudest moments as a Member of Congress was receiving the call that, after 80 years of being wrongfully and discriminatorily charged, the US Navy was finally exonerating the Port Chicago 50 (1/2).

She became a National Park Ranger at the age of 85 to do just that!
Betty died last year at the age of 104, but her spirit continues to inspire Californians (4/4).
After attending a meeting on the development of the Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Park, Betty was committed to sharing the first-hand experiences of women working in wartime industry, including racial segregation and discrimination (3/4).
01.03.2026 02:22 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0During World War II, Betty took a job with the US Air Force before learning that they employed her only because her supervisors believed she was white. Betty promptly left and took a position with the International Boilermakers Union in Richmond as a file clerk (2/4).
01.03.2026 02:22 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Weβre wrapping up our Black History Month spotlight with one of my personal heroes and an East Bay legend β Betty Reid Soskin. Betty came to call Oakland home as a young girl and graduated from Castlemont High School (1/4).
01.03.2026 02:22 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0I will unequivocally be voting YES on the bipartisan war powers resolution next week and implore Republicans Leadership to stand up and speak up. This must be stopped immediately and this Presidentβs madness and recklessness must be confronted now (2/2).
28.02.2026 17:32 β π 11 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0I strongly condemn President Trumpβs unlawful military action against Iran. Americans do not want to see us plunged into another endless foreign war and the President does not have the authority to do so (1/2).
28.02.2026 17:32 β π 19 π 4 π¬ 3 π 1In DC and here in the East Bay, February was a busy month for Team DeSaulnier. Check out our monthly engagement:
28.02.2026 00:46 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am excited to share that I secured $2 million for @cccta to construct a solar battery system allowing County Connection to charge its zero emission buses overnight and maintain operations during emergencies. (2/2)
28.02.2026 00:44 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Investment in environmentally friendly transit infrastructure for our community is a no-brainer! (1/2)
28.02.2026 00:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Remembered as a member of the βBig Five of Bayview,β Elouiseβs legacy lives on at the Westbrook Plaza Health Center which bears her name (4/4).
27.02.2026 23:54 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In 1968, Elouise led lobbying efforts for the Committee on Capitol Hill, successfully securing $40 million for new affordable housing projects in the Bay Area. Over the next decades, Elouise continued to push for more affordable housing for Bay Area residents and health care access for all (3/4).
27.02.2026 23:54 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0After the 1959 San Francisco redevelopment plan displaced thousands of low-income residents with no new affordable homes constructed, Elouise joined forces with her fellow neighbors on the Hunters Point-Bayview Joint Housing Committee to petition for change (2/4).
27.02.2026 23:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As Black History Month comes to a close, weβre sharing the story of another local unsung hero, Elouise Westbrook, who was born and raised in Texas before moving to San Francisco in the years after World War II (1/4).
27.02.2026 23:54 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0As our civil rights are under relentless attack from the Trump Administration, I am prouder than ever to receive a 100% scorecard from @aclu.org . Whether it be standing up for free speech or regulating AI to protect privacy, Iβm committed to protecting your rights and freedoms in Congress.
27.02.2026 23:45 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I will be joined by special guests Ruth Fernandez, Executive Director of First 5 Contra Costa, and Janet Hoy, Civic Engagement Chair for the League of Women Voters Diablo Valley for a wide-ranging conversation. RSVP: desaulnier.house.gov/town-hall-rsvp (2/2)
27.02.2026 23:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In honor of Womenβs History Month, I am hosting a Town Hall on Advancing Womenβs Equality on March 12th at 6:30 p.m. in Orinda (1/2).
27.02.2026 23:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This Community Project Funding cycle weβre bringing $850,000 to the Town of Danville to install fiber optic cables at 54 traffic signals to enable real-time signal optimization and reduce traffic congestion so you can get where youβre going safely and more efficiently (2/2).
26.02.2026 21:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Hitting every red light on your commute home or while driving around town can be so frustrating. Thatβs where smart signals come into play (1/2).
26.02.2026 21:03 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 2 π 1I was thrilled to secure $1 million for Central San in this yearβs Community Project Funding cycle to upgrade the ultraviolet disinfection technology at their treatment facility and protect public health and water quality in an environmentally friendly way (2/2).
26.02.2026 00:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This morning, I welcomed the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District to my DC office to discuss the important but often unseen undertaking of wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal, which they have been providing to nearly half a million residents in Contra Costa for almost 80 years (1/2).
26.02.2026 00:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I did not attend last nightβs State of the Union, which was unsurprisingly riddled with lies. In this weekβs update, I share my thoughts on what we heard in the address and laid out the facts about the harm that the Trump Administration is wreaking on our country. youtu.be/P_YN5c2GVME

In fact, a recent study by an independent economic research institute found that only 4% of the tariff burden was absorbed by foreign exporters, the other 96% was passed to U.S. buyers in what the report called a βtax paid almost entirely by Americansβ (2/2).

While President Trump touts his illegal tariffs, American families across the country are seeing costs rise for everyday necessities. Itβs clear that American consumers are overwhelmingly paying for Trumpβs tariffs (1/2).
25.02.2026 04:21 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Trumpβs ICE goons are not enforcing immigration laws, they are terrorizing communities and murdering Americans with impunity (2/2).
25.02.2026 03:27 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0As President Trump brags about his immigration enforcement at tonightβs State of the Union, I can think only of Renee Nicole Good, Alex Pretti, and the three dozen people who have died in ICE custody since Trump took office (1/2).
