Visitors can step back in time during a medieval weekend in the castle courtyard later this month.

We’re welcoming local re-enactment group, The Guild of St. Edmund, on Sat 30 & Sun 31 Aug, who will be hosting a living history camp.

Normal zoo admission applies.

Our new Linnes two-toed sloth baby looks to be very keen to wean!

Baby sloths are typically nursed for around 6 months, but despite our newest addition being just 5 wks-old, it is already extremely eager to try mum’s crunchy vegetables for itself!

How blooming lovely does our 40-acre site look at the moment?

Our gardeners have been busy creating lots of new colourful and interesting areas around the zoo, including rockeries, planters, bug hotels and vegetable patches to grow food for some of our species.

We’ve had a baby boom in Castle Creatures, with lots of tiny Egyptian fruit bats born over the last few weeks.

After a gestation of 4 months, females give birth while hanging upside down!

The youngsters are now old enough to begin leaving their mums to fly off by themselves.

Zeus, our Southern cassowary will be in the spotlight this week as we focus on the Australian bird.
Find out how the species is the closest living relative to the dinosaur.

Congratulations to our latest Animals of the Month - our new glutinous snails!

Staff said..."These critically endangered snails have settled in to their new tanks in the farm barn & we're very excited that they've already started to breed. We now have over 100 babies!"

Today marks 275 years since Dudley Castle was ravaged by fire.
Starting on July 24 1750, the blaze raged for 3 days & nights. The castle was never rebuilt & left to become the ruin you see today.
