I like pastis, too! This was a whole different experience. Like if you like tequila and someone tries to serve you well mixto or you like rum and someone suggests Malibu.

There was also banana! I think those were the only flavors that masked the anise fully. It was a night to remember and a hangover I will never forget.

There was a French liquor brand that tried to make pastis youthful and chic in Paris 10 years ago. They took a page from the Absolut playbook and set up cute kiosks at some Parisian gay parties with free drinks. The flavors made it somewhat easier to drink, but with unintended disastrous results.

It’s a shame that the neon colored fruit and mint flavored pastis from the sample wagon outside of Rosa Bonheur is not for sale in the US
