feels very weird to see EA taken private by Jared Kushner and the Saudis

They will have a big influence on the priorities of the business and they'll likely push the company even harder to adopt AI.

You'll probably see them cut a decent amount of stuff (Bioware), level out investments in some other things (Apex Legends??)

We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man. I take safety more serious than you could ever imagine.

Content creators tend to think any spectacle is defensible if they can say health and safety concerns have been attended to behind the scenes, but that’s not really it imho. Mr. Beast’s whole thing is that his subjects’ desperation for cash allows him—a wealthier person—to indulge his sadism.

The central argument was that Twitter — which is no longer the Twitter of five or ten years ago both literally and figuratively — is an important element of the national conversation and that leaving it to the fringe-right and to trolls was ceding important terrain. But this idea that others could swoop in and collectively shift the conversation, beyond imposing an odd job requirement on all of us, misunderstands the nature of the change from Twitter to X. It is owned and directed by a far-right actor who bought it specifically to elevate and amplify right-wing messaging. You might as well argue that people should join the Republican Party in order to redirect it to less extreme terrain; that ship sailed a long time ago and you’re going to encounter some systemic obstacles that are beyond your persuasive powers.

I read this morning that Social Security is going to run out of money by the early 2030s.

It seems clear to me - we need to tax AI and have part of that tax pay into social security.

It's killing jobs, while still creating productivity and $$ - it needs to be taxed like it's an employee.

frustrating that ive been working in social media for nearly 20 years and I still have to explain this shit to people that have no understanding of social or the value exchange that happens on these platforms between brands and customers/fans/followers

too many execs see this only as advertising

It's hard to keep up with everything going on these days :/
