This year, primaries include candidates with very different positions on crucial issues such as healthcare, immigrant rights, and taxation. Give yourself the chance to support candidates whose positions align most closely with yours.

➡️ If you’ve never registered to vote before, your County Board needs to have your registration by 6/13 for you to vote in this June’s primaries.

➡️ If you’re already registered to vote, register for a party by 2/14 so you can vote in that party’s June primaries! You’re not marrying the party, but in NY, you do have to choose it officially if you want a voice in who gets the party nod (and the accompanying advantage) for November elections.

Tell them not to let the DHS appropriations bill reach the floor, and that Congress must put serious restrictions on ICE, end its dragnet raids, and not add a penny to its already bloated budget.

You may also call the senators’ offices directly, either in Washington or Rochester. Staff in each location keep a log of callers’ wishes regarding bills.

Since there have been shifts by Senate Democrats in the recent past, we want to ensure that they hold to this commitment.
Our phone calls can make a difference on this issue, and there are two recommended options to make them.

After yet another horrific execution by ICE or CBP of a community observer in Minneapolis on Saturday, Sen. Chuck Schumer, minority leader, said Democrats will not provide votes to advance the funding bill. If the Senate Dems hold to that, the bill dies.

As you know, the House of Representatives passed the Homeland Security appropriations bill, which increases funding to ICE and CBP by hundreds of millions of dollars. Seven Dems voted with the Republicans to pass it. The bill now moves to the Senate for a vote this week.

Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.
