I visited Downing Street today to discuss the Nippon Electric Glass site in Hindley Green.
Electric Glass Fibre's products are used in the defence, renewable energy and transport industries. Keeping these British skills and supply chains is vital. I will keep fighting to save the site.

How the EU’s habitats directive is still harming Britain UK economic growth is hampered by excessive regulation β€” one project went through six rounds of consultation as the cost ballooned to Β£9 billion. Why?

I am delighted with the PM’s commitment today to ensure Britain reaches 3% GDP on defence spending. I’ve campaigned for this for years, including @labourtogether.bsky.social

Wigan: Flood-hit towns must get new defence says, says MP A plea for new protection is made as the floods minister visits towns hit by the New Year's Day floods.

2 weeks since flooding hit our area, the flooding minister, Emma Hardy has now visited to see the damage herself. I will not stop pushing for our share of the flood defence funding, and for answers and action from all agencies. There must be no passing the buck. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Those affected by the flooding in Platt Bridge and Abram today can also go to St Nathaniel's Church, which still has power and is providing hot drinks to residents.
