Another coworker (friend of my dad’s) thought the other guy was ridiculous. He also said that he was once on bread and water (a couple days in the brig—he got on really well in the navy) and was allowed to add condiments to the water. It was not soup/food.

I can only imagine what he’d say now!

A former coworker at an older job (decades ago) once told me that kids wouldn’t starve. I forget all the reasons he said, but the kids could take money from their mom’s purse. If not, they could steal ketchup packages from fast food places to add to water to make soup.
