What’s so interesting is that my family did genealogical research years ago and found that while most of the slave rebellions were unsuccessful, there were three that succeeded, and one of them is how my ancestor made it back to Nigeria.

One of my great great great grandfathers on my mother’s side was taken from Nigeria to Brazil as a slave. He fought in a one few successful slave rebellions. The freedmen and women stole ships and returned to Nigeria. My family stayed there until my mother immigrated to the U.S. years later.

The IDF just ended one of the most common talking points used to claim Hamas was stealing aid from Palestinians. Now that we know Israel was not telling the truth, will the people who spread that lie here take accountability and apologize?

Lately I just keep thinking about how much comes down to wanting better for each other and acting accordingly.

I want to go back to a time when kids dying wasn’t treated as a moment to score political points. How did we lose that basic sense of shared humanity and how do we get it back?

the amount of contempt vance has for everyone he's talking to β€” such that he'll say obvious nonsense as if he's fooling you β€”Β is genuinely remarkable

With the tragic assassination of a Minnesota Democratic leader, I’m going to underline this point again.

14.06.2025 15:37 β€” πŸ‘ 15084    πŸ” 4255    πŸ’¬ 168    πŸ“Œ 57

I’m sick of the false equivalency. I’m sick of the political violenceone side wages while the other writes op-eds begging for calm. I’m sick of pretending murder and protest are the same. And I’m sick of a media too timid to name what’s in front of our eyes.

14.06.2025 16:13 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

In the coming days Republicans will say: β€œWhat about BLM?” But destroying property during a protest is not like murdering politicians and spouses in cold blood. One is destruction of property, the other is taking a life. If you can’t see the difference, you’re choosing not to.

14.06.2025 16:13 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The goal now is not only to normalize political violence, to make it just another partisan issue. But this isn’t about left vs right. It’s about whether we let extremists with guns decide who lives or dies based on their political views. That should terrify every American.

14.06.2025 16:13 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And you’re going to see Republicans try to equate this with the BLM protests, as if serious property damage from five years ago is somehow the same as political assassinations, the cold-blooded murder of two public servants and their spouses. Don’t let them blur the lines.

14.06.2025 16:12 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And now we’re watching that message take root. Political violence isn’t just tolerated in the far right movement, it’s encouraged. When leaders laugh off assaults and promise pardons, they’re laying the groundwork for something far more dangerous.

14.06.2025 16:12 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

This timeline is getting darker by the day. The January 6 pardons helped create this environment, signaling that if you commit violence against Democrats, you’ll be celebrated, not punished. Just look at how Trump joked about the brutal attack on Paul Pelosi.

14.06.2025 16:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

If you were a far-right barbaric thug and saw Trump pardon people who beat cops, had child pornography, and considered pardoning those who tried to kidnap a democrat governor, you’d probably think you could do anything and get away with it. That’s the evil we’re living in.

Do you think @schumer.senate.gov and Senate Democrats have a real plan for this momentβ€”one we all knew was coming the second Trump got elected again? Or are we just in for another strongly worded letter to the White House?

Frankly, I dont have a solution. It’s awful this is where we are. That this gross display of government authoritarian overreach will probably not seem like a crisis to a majority of people. As Winston Churchill said β€œAmericans will do the right thing after exhausting ever other possible option”

No disrespect to OP, but I think people need to be clear eyed about this and understand that the media/information landscape right now are extremely fragmented, more than 2020, you may see a majority of Americans believe the authoritarian acts by the Trump admin are fine and not a problem.

A quick thought on β€œsmuggling” vs. β€œtrafficking,” two terms which Bondi used somewhat interchangeably.

Generally, people pay to be smuggled; it’s a service. Trafficking, by contrast, is involuntary; no one wants to be trafficked.

That distinction is key in thinking through the allegations.

Some say banning state-level AI rules prevents a β€œpatchwork” that would slow innovation. But that argument assumes the federal government will act quickly and responsibly, which it rarely does. State experimentation is often how we get smarter, faster policy.

Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill:

- stops states from regulating AI for 10 years,

-centralizes control at the federal level

-integrates all AI systems nationwide into federal government agencies.

It’s not deregulationβ€”it’s federal control disguised as progress. Classic Trump.
