If y'all thought platform releases were annoying nowadays, here's a throwback to how Fox Searchlight released Best Picture nominee 127 Hours in 2010/11: it only peaked at 433 theaters in its first 12 weeks of release, then finally reached semi-wide release post-Oscar noms in week 13.

Faint praise award, but it is nice to see that Disney has held back on the digital releases of Zootopia 2 (still only a $20+ rental/purchase) and Avatar: Firre and Ash (still no official release date!) and they're still making $1M+ each after 2-3+ months in theaters.

You know those online communities you used to be really into but eventually fell out of because so many cool people left and eventually the most prominent people were the most annoying and argumentative ones? That kinda feels like the entire internet at large now.

The IL Senate Dem primary is a real bummer. Of the top 3 contenders, two are pro-Israel (Juliana, Raja), two are concerningly wishy-washy about abolishing ICE (Robin, Raja) and the current frontrunner is the guy in both groups.

One of my favorite parts of the new Elvis concert doc was seeing him react to (IIRC) mic feedback by making a Star Trek joke that maybe half his audience gets.

The Golden Globes came really close to a perfect Musical or Comedy lineup in 2000 so of course the one weak link in the lineup was the only one that made Oscars' Best Picture lineup.
