And maybe I am clowning about this but I cannot imagine RTD mentioning David Tennant like that if he hadn't been secretly cast already...

On February 3rd 2005 (published on March 3rd), RTD wrote that they "haven't got a single episode [of Casanova] ready yet" and that he spend part of his day in the edit of Casanova.

Okay, so I am currently reading the new issue of DWM and because of the 20th anniversary of NuWho, they compiled all the production letters of RTD from 2004/2005 which were published in DWM at the time.

So, I assume he was asked sometimes between late November 2004 (at the very earliest) and mid March 2005 (before the show started transmitting).

So David said that he watched the first episode and a rough cut of the sixth episode (Dalek) that evening. According to the wiki page, the shooting of Dalek was mostly finished by November 3rd with pick-up shots through-out November.

Okay, question to all the David Tennant or Casanova fans: does anyone happen to know when exactly they filmed Casanova?

Because David recently said he was asked to be the Doctor on the last (or so) day of filming Casanova and I would like to know when that was :)
