The reality isn't good, hence why I have increasingly spent more time using mint. Converting my laptop is the next step.

I know hardware support isn't perfect. I have had to work through weird tech issues before, and they aren't easy at times to find a solution to.

I could switch to Ubuntu, if it is needed. I do like Cinnamon though, but there's a Ubuntu flavor with it.

If you mean try Mint, yeah, I'd do that first. The machine is about a year and a half old now so driver support should be there. it's also a Lenovo.

Okay, the quoted news article is false, so don't believe that. There is no announcement of Windows 12 for this year at this time.
However, Linux Mint is still great on my desktop, and that's a fact.

Wow... it's getting harder and harder to see what's real. Like a lot of what it said were rumors I've heard, and I took it as being confirmation, but it's still all rumors. The information ecosystem is breaking down.

I'm a little hesitant go with those, but I'm appreciating the stability of Mint. I'll think on it though.

Microsoft won't die, but I can see them really in a diminished position when this all said and done.

I ran into a few sticking points, but it's been fairly smooth. Some of my needs have been a bit more advanced also. I'll have to see at doing my laptop at some point.

That does seem to be the case. I'm also nervous handing over so much control over the ability to do anything to companies. I'm sure that's going to be bad for all of us.

Since I'm very much an AI skeptic, I think a lot of this will backfire. How? That's hard to say, but I can see a world where Windows stops being as important as it has been.

In fairness, it might not be bad, but I bet it's going to be bad.
As for taking down the company, since I work in tech, (pesky day job) I've actively been diversifying my skill set away from Microsoft. I'm concerned what happens to them if they don't make their investment back.

I think Word being the standard will have to change, but it will take time. It depends in a way how bad Microsoft gets.
I have been happy on Linux, but I still have access to Microsoft.

Finally, it's great to see the Furry Historical Fiction anthology also got nominated, which I am so happy to have contributed to. That too is very worthy of winning.

The Voice of Dog
Furry stories to warm the ol' cockles, read by Rob MacWolf and guests.
Curious about "The Package"? That appeared in The Voice of Dog, and you can listen to it right now.

I think at some point, I'm just going to write a novel set in the 1990s. For some reason this sounds fun, but I'm still not sure why. For now, it's just in an itch in the back of my mind.
