Dangerous dirt bikes and stunt driving in San Francisco have been tolerated for too long.

Today I stood alongside Mayor Lurie and law enforcement leaders to announce a major operation that seized 6 dirt bikes and resulted in 4 arrests.

Union Square is perfect tonight! Great weather and a few thousand people out for a showing of Big Hero 6.

If you missed it, the next Cinema on the Square is October 4th - The Birds!

🙌 We're making progress on our recovery across Union Square and Downtown! It's good to see recognition of more openings, events, and projects underway.

Our focus has been on clean and safe streets + lowering barriers to small businesses opening... And it's working.

Our Downtown Town Hall last week was a great opportunity to hear directly what's getting better and what more needs to be done.

Downtown is critical to our city budget, our city's image on a global stage, and everyday experiences for nearly a million workers and residents.

For the first time, the City has consolidated teams across five city departments:

Dept. Public Health
Homelessness and Supportive Housing
Emergency Management
Police
Fire

This is exactly the type of coordination we need more of!

The Central Subway is showing promise as the past 2 months of consecutive record ridership shows.

But it's time to get serious about speeding up the current line and creating a plan to extend it to North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf. 🚇

Our Van Ness Ave legislation - led by Supervisor Sherrill - reformed permitting to fill vacancies along this major corridor.

It's already working! 🍿

A new movie theater, Apple Cinemas, will move through permitting in a matter of weeks instead of what used to be a 6-8 month process!

San Francisco is coming back, and new headlines are being written.

Newsweek just profiled what is happening and titled it “San Francisco's Great American Comeback.”

I’m honored that they named me as a “key voice in San Francisco’s efforts to combat crime and reshape the city’s recovery narrative.”

We can't have a safe, strong city unless we confront the toll - both human and economic - of traffic collisions in our city. Everyone should be able to walk, bike, and roll in our city without fearing for their lives.

Today we rallied with safe street advocates to make this clear.
