And uh yeah, religion's been evaluated by the secular world for millennia and the findings are decidedly conclusive: it IS dangerous, and it IS stupid.

"Your ideas"? I'm not sure how religion somehow became equated with some innocuous thought that just popped into one's head.

I don't think the religious need policing (never suggested anything like that); I think they need to be mocked relentlessly and held to a higher standard, frankly.

I always applaud "bad" followers of religion who aren't unflinchingly rigid in their beliefs and take a less literal approach in interpreting their texts; those who understand that it's *meant* to be a framework for compassion and improvement of one's inner world.

Sure, not all religious people are lunatics and can definitely be a positive force in this world. The difficulty is that their own theology and dogma literally demands spreading it to others, so unfortunately "live and let live" flies out the window.

I'm not sure I'd agree that internalized bigotry is "the" genuine pretext. I mean, pretty much all major religions outright endorse and provide instructions on slavery and genocides.

Yeah but he NEEDS people to like him, not just personally but for the sake of his business. That's the reason he never has any opinion or stance with any of his guests: he just absorbs and parrots whatever they say so the guest likes him. He never pushes back. Keep calling him out; he cares a lot.

And that's the issue with religion in general. None of it is based on empirical evidence or historicity. You genuinely can't tell anyone else that they are religion-ing wrong, because it's all based on how the individual feels. That's why we have every flavor of religion for every kind of consumer.

But you failed to realize that religion is not a monolith, and every interpretation is just as valid or invalid as the next. Because it's all essentially catering to the consumer, and can be (and has been) altered to fit the culture, no one can claim that they have a monopoly on "correct" religion.

I mean he talks about man-made climate change all the time so I guess I was interpreting it as some sort of insinuation that he doesn't, or isn't concerned about it. He's got tons of videos specifically on this topic and brings it up consistently in all his vids!

And the truth is you can never change their minds until *they're* ready. The power structures that's keeping them secure has to kick them directly in the teeth before they'll consider anyone else's POV. It's unfortunate, but reality. Kids who burn their hand on the stove *will* learn.

And they'll continue to blame Democrats, just like how many did while suffocating to death with COVID. I have nothing but indifference for them and their suffering at this point. You can only waste so much breath before understanding how little it's doing. Have the day you deserve!

It's been pretty surreal seeing the weather apps and sites having absolutely zero relation to the actual weather events. I've been joking that meteorology is a hoax, but the reality is they've been asked to do their jobs with their eyes gouged out and hands tied behind their backs.

He knows. He's not the one you need to convince.
