Normally I would basically paint for like 4 to 6 hours and get like 80% of the batch painted then do the finishing touches the next time. Which might be part of why my wrist is in the condition it is. Hah

So I’ve been doing hour paint sessions on this new round of minis so I don’t overdo it and make my wrist hurt. It’s kind of weird, on the one hand it’s nice seeing the progression at a slower pace, but on the other hand it feels like I’m not making progress.

I like having everything close at hand too. Which is why I made the little organizer caddy in the bottom right of the second picture. So I can grab everything i use often easily.

I did end up putting some foam under the paints in the back rows to raise them up a little to make them more visible. And the drawers underneath the paints have various tools and brushes in them. Before I did this my work area kept getting smaller due to tools being everywhere. It’s really nice now.

A small shelf holding a bunch of various types of miniatures. At the top are a bunch of plastic kits for assembling your own, mostly Frostgrave stuff. Below that are two small Arizona green tea boxes each filled with blister pack minis. To the left is a stack of foam and cardboard for crafting. To the right is a small two shelf bookcase. On top is some more foam, and in the teo shelves are various Frostgrave and the Silver Bayonet rule books.

A top down look at a work table. On the left is a stand with a laptop on it, and then a box holding a bunch of terrain making supplies like grass tufts and turf. There is also another box holding a bunch of other terrain supplies like balsa wood and chip board. On the table itself there is a red cutting mat in front with a square ruler and various tools. In the center back of the table are large paint racks packed with various paints. In the back right there is a small set of drawers with various paints and glued on top of it. In the bottom right of the picture is a small cardboard caddy holding a bunch of miniature and model making tools.

So here are a couple more pictures of my new work table set up. I am really happy with it, and happy to have more room for paints. Having room to grow with my paint collection is nice, before this I had like 30 paints I didn’t even have out yet. I also assembled a bookcase to hold my game books too.

congrats on the weight loss! might I recommend suspenders for keeping pants up? I had never used them and have had issues with pants hanging low on my waist for years, despite using a belt. So I finally tried suspenders and they are amazing. Hah

I couldn’t do a hobby streak type thing. The more I feel like I β€œhave” to do something the less I want to actually do it. Like even when I’m working on a set of minis or terrain I will plan my next steps of work but sometimes I will get stunlocked and just *not* do anything for weeks on it.

They still make good ones even now, I enjoy the genre as well. TMNT shredder’s revenge that came out a couple years ago was great. Marvel cosmic invasion came out recently, made by the same guys. (Own but haven’t played yet) River City Girls came out a while back and was great too.

And for what it’s worth, I’m not surprised you have people wanting to see your stuff. You make interesting scratch built stuff. i always like seeing the stuff you’re working on.

26.02.2026 10:53 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh no, same thing. If I wanted to actually grow I would use hashtags and stuff. I’m just doing my own thing here too. For me it’s more weird that just posting because I wanted to has seen more growth than when I was actively trying on another site.

See I used to use Twitter back in the day when I used to stream, but on that I never really gained any sort of traction and stopped using it for anything when I stopped streaming. So I guess this is a more β€œsuccessful” account, by numbers. But like I said, now I just post for fun.

A picture of a work table and a plastic chair. To the left is a wooden end table with a bunch of random stuff on it. To the right is a small shelf with a bunch of mini boxes on it. The work table itself has a bunch of random stuff on it, tools everywhere. In the middle of the table is a small set of drawers, to the right side are miniature paints, on the right are a bunch of building materials.

Now in the middle and left side on the table are two large wooden paint stands with all the paints in order and room for plenty of new paints. The small set of drawers is now on the right. The actual work area of the table is clean and orderly.

Well I finished up redoing my work area for minis and terrain. I’m pretty happy with the final result. I’ll do a side by side today, and tomorrow do more pics later. The left is the old version, right is my upgrade.

I feel you, I’ve never had more followers on other social media than here. It’s kind of weird feeling, since I am just doing my own thing, and others apparently actually care.

The second warband I painted was actually a cultist one, they can be used as random encounter enemies and for an actual warband, so double the use.

Worked 3 hours redoing my work table for minis, assembling a small bookcase for my game books, and reorganizing stuff for terrain making materials. Still have a couple hours to go but am happy so far eith how it’s looking. Will do before and after pictures once it’s all done!

I’m on vacation for the week. I want to get my house spring cleaning done, redo my work room for minis and crafting, watch some stuff, and try working on some minis to test how my hand is healing over the course of the week.

A large miniature of a troll. It’s lanky-limbed and has a hunched over posture with one hand on the ground and is colored in green and grey. It has a mane of brown and tan hair covering its head and back. The hair has red and white mushrooms growing in it. It’s wearing a ram loincloth. The ground is covered with fall colored foliage.

So here is the other miniature I painted with the pixies. A troll for the Silver Bayonet! This is a wizkids d&d framework kit. So it had several ways to assemble parts. I also added green stuff to the hair to make it look a bit better. Overall I like it a lot though!

I mean the more you paint and make, the more your skill level increases as well. So it grows with you that way as well. I know recently I’ve been trying extra techniques when I’m painting minis and still seeing improvements. and I had been painting models since the early 2000’s.

I actually got started by watching YouTube terrain making videos, I thought that seemed cool, then Covid hit, I had a little extra money, so I bought some paints and a few minis, and then more paints and minis. Didn’t have a plan or anything at first, then I found Frostgrave and that gave me a goal

You’ve mentioned you dont play any games with your minis, so what originally made you decide to start painting them?

A set of 4 miniatures. They are 4 fairy-like creatures. They all have tan hats and leggings eith spots on them and tunics. Two have blue tunics and two have purple. They have a dark grey skin and white eyes. Their hair is a green mossy color. Their bases have lots of plants on them to make them look more close to nature.

So I managed to finish the round of minis I was working on before my wrist started hurting. So I guess it’s time to show them off. More enemies for the Silver Bayonet. These are the North Star miniatures pixies. There were 5 originally and I definitely didn’t accidently drop one down the sink.

While I’ve been resting my hand, I’ve been getting back into anime a bit. I used to watch it a lot, and fell out due to not having time from other stuff. It’s been nice getting back into it, little by little.

My hand and wrist is recovering well. I was worried about it for a while, but I’ve been resting it when I can and it’s feeling a lot better. Still resting it a bit longer, though tomorrow I may try and finish the bases on my current batch of minis. That only will take like half an hour to do.

Just ordered some paint stands for my miniature paints. I had made some holders out of cardboard but I wanted something a bit larger since I’ve been out of room for a while for new paints. So now I’ll be able to hold like 200 paints within easy reach. Looks like it’ll be time to redo my work area!

A side picture of two terrain pieces. They are both altars for use in table top gaming. The left one is a stone slab resting against a boulder. Hanging off the side are some heads on hooks and in the top of the rock are hands on spiked rods. There’s. Red splatter on the face of the slab. The right altar is made of some sort of dark stone and has a variety of demon and human skulls placed around it. There’s also a trio of candles and a knife. In the center are red symbols.

And here are the two altars I made for the Silver Bayonet. One is meant to look like a tipped over standing stone, the other spooky. But I am happy with both and both should get plenty of use.

A set of 8 scatter terrain pieces. They are all large upright single stones, looking much like Stonehenge’s stones. Six of them are rectangular and tall, and two are smaller and more square in shape. They are all painted to look like grey stone and have various fall colored foliage on the bases. Some have yellow moss growing on them.

Four more pieces of terrain, two of them are double rectangular stones with a smaller stone across the top, making arches. One of a single rectangular stone that had tipped over onto the ground. And the last is a set of eight small rocks in the shape of a circle. They all have grey colors to them. They all also have fall colored foliage on the ground and yellow moss growing on parts of them.

So my wrist has been hurting for a while now, but I finally got to taking pictures of my last terrain project for the Silver Bayonet, some standing stones! So here they are, I also have some altars I made, but will post those later!

Just got done watching A Silent Voice. It was not what I thought it was going to be. And now I have a lot going on in my mind. Kind of glad I will be hitting the hay soon so I can mull it over tomorrow after it’s left to sit in my head for a bit. It was a good movie though, would recommend.
