I was glad to chat with Senator Andrew Cardozo to talk about something too often left out of big political conversations: workers.

We dug into the Canada–U.S. relationship and what it really means for the people holding up our economy.

• I passed people unhoused, struggling with addiction, some in wheelchairs
• I walked by The Bay, where 8,000 workers will lose their jobs on June 1

This is the real Canada so many are facing, and it demands urgent action.

It was an honour to be invited to the opening of Canada’s Parliament and to meet King Charles III. A rare opportunity and a moment full of ceremony and history. But just steps away, along Rideau Street in Ottawa, I saw a very different reality that we can’t ignore.

Didn’t think I’d be spending May Day at the Economic Club of Canada, but I’m glad I did.

Because in this moment of global volatility, labour and business must stand together and demand better from the government.

Let’s build a Canada that’s strong, stable, and unstoppable.
