Pres Trump told me tonight the US had identified possible candidates to take over Iran, but they were killed in the initial attack.

"The attack was so successful it knocked out most of the candidates," Trump told me. "It's not going to be anybody that we were thinking of because they are all dead. Second or third place is dead."

It would ensure that the lawful redactions of those files protected the victims and survivors, not powerful men and political allies.

It would get to the bottom of reports that DOJ withheld FBI interviews in which a survivor accuses President Trump of heinous crimes.

It would subpoena anyone who asked on which night there would be the โ€œwildest partyโ€ on Epsteinโ€™s island.

It would demand testimony from prosecutors in Florida and New York about why they gave Epstein a sweetheart deal and chose not to pursue others who may have been implicated.

It would demand that Secretary Rubio and Attorney General Bondi testify about why this administration is abandoning survivors and playing into the hands of traffickers.

But thatโ€™s not happening.

Instead, you have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trumpโ€™s actions and to cover them up despite legitimate calls for answers.

If this Committee is serious about learning the truth about Epsteinโ€™s trafficking crimes, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement; it would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files.

If the majority was serious, it would not waste time on fishing expeditions. There is too much that needs to be done.

What is being held back? Who is being protected? And why the cover-up?

Mr. Chairman, your investigation is supposed to be assessing the federal governmentโ€™s handling of the investigations and prosecutions of Epstein and his crimes. You subpoenaed eight law enforcement officials, all of whom ran the Department of Justice or directed the FBI when Epsteinโ€™s crimes were investigated and prosecuted. Of those eight, only one appeared before the Committee. Five of the six former attorneys general were allowed to submit brief statements stating they had no information to provide.

You have held zero public hearings, refused to allow the media to attend them, including today, despite espousing the need for transparency on dozens of occasions.

You have made little effort to call the people who show up most prominently in the Epstein files. And when you did, not a single Republican Member showed up for Les Wexnerโ€™s deposition.

This institutional failure is designed to protect one political party and one public official, rather than to seek truth and justice for the victims and survivors, as well as the public who also want to get to the bottom of this matter. My heart breaks for the survivors. And I am furious on their behalf.

Infuriatingly, the Trump Administration gutted the Trafficking in Persons Office at the State Department, cutting more than 70 percent of the career civil and foreign service experts who worked so hard to prevent trafficking crimes. The annual trafficking report, required by law, was delayed for months. The message from the Trump Administration to the American people and the world could not be clearer: combatting human trafficking is no longer an American priority under the Trump White House.

That is a tragedy. Itโ€™s a scandal. It deserves vigorous investigation and oversight.

A committee endeavoring to stopping human trafficking would seek to understand what specific steps are needed to fix a system that allowed Epstein to get away with his crimes in 2008.

A committee run by elected officials with a commitment to transparency would ensure the full release of all the files.

The calculus is a political one โ€” that more Americans would stomach a war with Iran if the United States or an ally were attacked first. Americans, especially Republicans, support regime change in Iran, but are unwilling to risk U.S. casualties to achieve it. Trumpโ€™s team is considering the optics.

Trumpโ€™s ICE Is Quietly Stockpiling Weaponryโ€”and It Should Alarm Us All In addition to staffing up at a furious rate, ICE and CPB are acquiring a vast cache of weapons from private contractors, new data reveals. This will not end wellโ€”or anytime soon.

Appalling: ICE and CBP contracted for $144 million in weaponry and accessories in Trump's first year, per data obtained by Sen Adam Schiff.

For ICE it's a fourfold increase, much of it for military-style weapons. A heavily armed secret police force. 1/

HOW 3 TRUMP-APPOINTED JUDGES HAVE STOPPED JUDGE
BOASBERG FROM PROBING POSSIBLE CRIMINAL CONTEMPT

Apr 16 Judge Boasberg finds probable cause to believe
criminal contempt was committed, but gives govt a

Apr 17 Govt petitions for stay and mandamus (a type of
emergency appeal)
Apr 18 Trump-appointed Judges Katsas & Rao impose
an โ€œadministrativeโ€ stay. Judge Pillard dissents. Such
stays, which provide no reasoning & are unappealable,
are only supposed to last a week or so, if that. But this

DHS failed to follow Boasbergโ€™s order to turn CECOTbound
planes around.
Aug 8 Katsas & Rao each grant mandamus, though
neither joins the otherโ€™s theory. Pillard dissents.
Aug 29 Same panel stays its own ruling and reinstates
the administrative stay pending resolution of petition for
rehearing en banc.
Nov 14 Petition for rehearing is denied, but administrative stay
is dissolved. Six of 11 judges explain, in statements,
that Boasberg can resume fact-finding for possible
contempt because changes on the ground have
rendered Raoโ€™s theory of mandamus inoperative.
Dec 8 Judge Boasberg sets evidentiary hearing on
contempt for Dec. 15
Dec 12 Govt petitions for second mandamus
Dec 12 New administrative stay entered by Trumpappointed
Judges Rao & Walker. Judge Childs dissents.
