Van Helsing is the only way D&D clerics make sense to me. They're just kind of weird mages otherwise. No other analogue/archetype really fits?

Hmm. I think it varies. The scene with the Balrog is one of the best written in the trilogy, in my opinion; I heard Ian McKellen perform it once, and it gave me chills. I also think he's an underrated horror writer. But sometimes it gets wearisome, for sure.

I always cringe when the American press refer to 'Prime Minister Keir Starmer of Britain.'

1. PM is a title, not an honorific like 'Dr' or 'Sir.'
2. It's the UK, not Britain. ('British' would be acceptable, but 'Britain' is not a country.)

Preferable:

'The UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer'
