Winged monkey! Think it's only in Tomb of Annihilation

I write about #dnd and other #ttrpgs. Sometimes paints minis. Teacher. He/him. Paths of the Nexus is now live on the DMs Guild!
Winged monkey! Think it's only in Tomb of Annihilation
06.08.2025 13:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still the cutest #5e monster art in my opinion. #dnd
06.08.2025 12:01 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's practically a meme, but have you ever actually run a 'rats in the cellar' encounter? Or is too clichΓ© at this point?
(I just find rats too cute.)
Sounds awesome! Love an airship in my fantasy.
05.08.2025 14:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fantasy or sci-fi setting?
05.08.2025 14:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Who actually enjoys a #hexcrawl?
I'm not just asking to be provocative. I see a lot of *discourse* about them online, but I don't know anyone who *actually* plays like that. Am I the outlier?
#dnd #ttrpgs
That's not a game, that's a hospital visit
05.08.2025 09:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's your opinion of 'off of', 'outside of' etc? Almost seems to be the opposite problem to me, but maybe it's because I'm British.
05.08.2025 09:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If #CampaignIV of #CriticalRole ends up using #Daggerheart rather than #dnd, maybe they should change the CR logo to a d12β¦
05.08.2025 09:30 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't understand how people can listen to Kiss. I'm stuck in a barbers with it, and it's rotting my brain.
04.08.2025 11:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ah great, thank you!
03.08.2025 13:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Van Helsing is the only way D&D clerics make sense to me. They're just kind of weird mages otherwise. No other analogue/archetype really fits?
03.08.2025 11:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hmm. I think it varies. The scene with the Balrog is one of the best written in the trilogy, in my opinion; I heard Ian McKellen perform it once, and it gave me chills. I also think he's an underrated horror writer. But sometimes it gets wearisome, for sure.
03.08.2025 11:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm enjoying these.
03.08.2025 11:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's this Brennan Lee Mulligan meme about doll shoes? Please, someone, fill me in.
03.08.2025 11:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Aww man, these new minis look awesome . . . #Dragonbane #ttrpgs

31.07.2025 10:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0After 18 months, I'm nearly there . . .
40,000 words.
200+ pages.
Everything you need to run a whole campaign from 1st to 20th level.
I've never written anything like this before, and I'm really proud of it. Can't wait to share itβsoon!

But hey. At least they didn't say 'England.'
29.07.2025 20:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always cringe when the American press refer to 'Prime Minister Keir Starmer of Britain.'
1. PM is a title, not an honorific like 'Dr' or 'Sir.'
2. It's the UK, not Britain. ('British' would be acceptable, but 'Britain' is not a country.)
Preferable:
'The UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer'

28.07.2025 14:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Campaign Handbook has hit 40,000 words!
28.07.2025 14:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As someone who did an entire finals paper on manuscript study, I feel attacked.
27.07.2025 16:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'll probably never run it again, but I still have a huge soft spot for 3rd edition D&D.
27.07.2025 16:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you like this kind of stuff, stay tuned for my next article on www.scrollforinitiative.com! Lots of nerdy detail on medieval weapons π€
24.07.2025 19:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The name 'bastard sword' was also used for them because they were 'irregular', 'of uncertain origin.' (Yeahβnot great.) 'Hand-and-a-half sword' came later.
AndΓΊril in The Lord of the Rings is a longsword. So is Longclaw in Game of Thrones. But IceβNed Stark's swordβis a greatsword. 2/
Did you know that LONGSWORDS are actually BASTARD SWORDS?
In medieval times, one-handed swords were called arming swords, or just 'swords'. Longer swordsβnot quite greatswords, but longer than regular arming swordsβwere called longswords. 1/
Woah, that kicked off a bit. Thank you so much, lovely people, for getting in touch.
