Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.
Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.
In a world pushing more, faster, and louder, I’ve been returning to what actually works: slowing down, building community, and protecting children’s humanity in our classrooms. This is a quiet return to that work.

I’m grateful that the false statements have been publicly corrected and that the truth is now clear. I hope this outcome serves as a reminder that words carry weight and accountability matters. @la-cac.org

Just finished writing to NC Representatives Foxx and Edwards asking them to restore funding to libraries by restoring the .003% of the full federal budget that the IMLS receives. There's still hope if we let them know how we feel about libraries and museums.

Colorful image from an Instagram carousel that reads "we can still save the institute for museum and library services (IMLS)"
Over on Instagram, I made a handy and highly sharable carousel about how we can still save the Institute of Museum and Library Services, if you'd like to pass that to your friends, family, and networks there, too.
nb: it's "of" and not "for," but I'm not editing.
