Women, Race, and the Moravian Church in the Early Modern Atlantic World This book focuses on women’s participation in the Moravian Church during the eighteenth century, focusing on international marriage and migration.

Excited to share my new article in JHI! It's a deep dive into how Lefèvre d'Étaples didn’t just adopt a humanist Latin rendering of Ps.-Dionysius—but rewrote it in dialogue with medieval translators. Thanks to Paolo Sachet for putting together an amazing special issue!

📣 New open access publication on early modern student notes, in which Leuven features quite prominently, as it has a long tradition of research in this source type (e.g. Magister Dixit, DaLeT). An extra surplus is that it has appeared in the year of KU Leuven's sexcentenary.

Another few steps on the road to publication: delighted my forthcoming book has its cover, and some very generous blurbs.

Had to explain off the cuff and in German the differences between Lutheran and Reformed teaching on the Lord's Supper to my undergrads today . . . there were small misrepresentations on both sides but we all came out okay #reformazing

We'll pay special attention to the practices (social, material, textual, etc.) and media that shape community/identity in each case. Any and all suggestions welcome, from specific readings to possible case studies to something more general. (3/4)

Plan is to focus on a series of case studies that capture different kinds of groups: rel minorities (e.g. English recusants), rel majorities (e.g. Caths in SW Ger), local eth minorities (e.g. refugees), and international communities (e.g. Moravians). (2/4)
