Congressional Republicans blew a $1 billion hole in our state budget to fund corporate tax breaks.

We’re acting now to protect core services by closing corporate tax giveaways, responsibly reducing spending, and using some of our rainy day fund that Democrats have built up in recent years.

Legislators returned to the Capitol this week to hear presentations from state agencies, healthcare providers, food assistance advocates, & climate experts about the devastating impact President Trump’s β€œBig Beautiful Bill” will have on Colorado.

The federal budget, which passed by a margin of only one GOP vote, will blow a $1.2 billion hole in our state budget, gut Medicaid and cause private insurance premiums to skyrocket, and cut food assistance and tax credits for Colorado families.

Anticipating federal guidance on vaccines could be compromised, we passed legislation (HB25-1027 & SB25-196) to ensure that CO's vaccine recommendations & insurance coverage don’t rely solely on the CDC – they also incorporate guidance from trusted experts like the American Academy of Pediatrics.
