There are organizations here funded by Hindu extremists from the south, with a goal of creating a hindu theocracy & they want a figurehead to rally behind. They use the monarchy, as that aligns well with hindu hierarchy

It's not just a problem in Nepal, but throughout the entire south asian subcontinent.
Many of our culture & tradition are rooted in nature, but Hinduism is cannibalizing them into their own rhetoric, claiming they are related/reincarnate of their gods
It's a genuine problem, but often casually accepted because of how trusting people are, then local culture is converted to theatrics.

I’ve travelled this road once, from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and decided to fly back from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The roads are terrible and we thought we’d go over the cliff, on every turn. We endured 8 hours of this! RIP to the victims.
