Aside from the morality of it which is paramount, even on an purely economic & transactional basis, we need to get out now, especially before the AI & crypto pyramid schemes collapse

This American admin is so corrupt and high on their own propaganda that there is very little value in calling them out on their lies. They clearly do not give a fuck. I think we all must divest & boycott from the US economy as much as possible…

A bit of a brag (if I may), when my niece was over from Oz in December, I was helping out by dropping her to training with Shells (yes, she’s that good.) I got a sense of the amount of work these players put in and it goes beyond being huge commitment, it’s everything to them. Nothing but admiration

Watched the Ireland - France game. It was a shame to see all our hard work go to waste in the first part of the 2nd half, but really entertaining overall. We might have clinched an equaliser at the very end as well, so lots to admire about this women’s team. Defo gonna try to watch the next match

I don’t think it’s possible to understate how much of an impact GM had on us when we were late-teens. Even though we were into Aphex or whatever, he was certainly a part of us coming to terms with & ditching our indoctrinated homophobia. He was also very good on other wider global social issues

All due respect to the likes of CMAT and others who are doing great work in saying what should be said. I dunno, maybe it’s just me and it’s a kind of generational blind spot sort of thing
It does feel like pop stardom is far more splintered & not as universal as it once was to me though

Of course he was a once-off, but I guess one of the unseen losses around the music industry & general media landscape changing is we’re unlikely to see someone like him in popular culture again

I feel like things would be different if we still had George Michael with us.

To add, the way BO’C covered the BAFTAs story was bad. I mean, even by his low standards it was painful. The use of the word “pious” went completely unchallenged when describing legitimate outrage over racist language being broadcast by the BBC. No nuance re intent v harm in the discussion

No mention that that the bombings of civilian targets are a WAR CRIME, or even that this Trump admin has no mandate for going to war, or even that there appears to be no plan for how “regime change” will happen, or what the “end game” looks like bar full capitulation to US imperialist interests

I’m sorry, but I have nothing of value to add re the current events other than to restate the obvious - that we’re being lead by a bunch of bleedin’ war criminals
