If the Marshals Go Rogue, Courts Have Other Ways to Enforce their Orders Opinion | Even a rogue marshal’s service is not an insurmountable obstacle to courts enforcing the rule of law.

I suggest everyone become very, very familiar with this piece by law Professor @david.noll.org. I suspect you will be referring to it often. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/if-t...

A few thoughts about today's protests:

1) The April 5 Hands Off day of action clearly ranks as one of the very largest mobilizations in U.S. history, by two different measures:
-- total national turnout (~ 3 million)
-- number of local protests (~ 1400)

Image of text in a book that reads:

For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes. But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course that's Moses, not Jesus. I haven't heard one of them demand that the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere.

"Blessed are the merciful" in a courtroom? "Blessed are the peacemakers" in the Pentagon? Give me a break.

Politico writers admitting in writing that they did not who FDR was or what he did before writing about the most consequential early days of US presidencies, then saying readers gave them a heads up after which they then checked Wikipedia and found out all kinds of things about FDR.

If I had someone under me who wrote an article about the greatest baseball teams of all time, completely omitted mention of, say, the 1939 or 1927 Yankees, and then later said "oops, my bad, I checked Wikipedia and they were good! Who knew?" they would be fired within ten minutes.

The House Republicans listed below are vulnerable in 2026. They will only vote to cut our benefits if they think no one is watching.

If you live in these districts, or know anyone who does, CALL NOW and tell them to keep their hands off Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid!

So when exactly do the ‘checks’ and ‘balances’ part kick in?

Or is that just a fun little slogan like

‘thoughts and prayers’?

US Government Websites Are Disappearing in Real Time A growing number of US government websites have gone offline as of Saturday, including several related to USAID and others focused on youth programs, Africa, and more.

NEW: USAID source says staff are scrambling to save archived copies of US regulations before they're gone & are being actively locked out of systems, including a publicly available database of USAID documents.

A New Government Memo Feels Like It’s Straight Out Of 'The Handmaid’s Tale' The memo also said recipients of federal transportation dollars must cooperate with immigration enforcement, a hit to so-called sanctuary cities.

Department of Transportation has issued a memo ordering programs supported by the agency to prioritize funding projects for communities with “marriage and birth rates higher than the national average.” www.huffpost.com/entry/dot-me...

The NTSB says it will no longer email news outlets or reporters with notifications of upcoming press conferences, including those on plane crashes in Washington and Philadelphia.

Instead, all notifications will be made on X.

We're filing a FOIA to find out more about the change in policy.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests.

We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason.
