Quintana is coming off one of his best seasons, started 4 playoff games, and completely revamped his mechanics. Replacing him with Montas, who has bounced from team to team, is a downgrade.

They’re essentially restarting with Montas rather than building on Manaea. It’s a bad move in my opinion.

As of right now, the Mets have turned Luis Severino and Sean Manaea into Clay Holmes and Frankie Montas.

That is a downgrade no matter how you slice it.
