alas I was curious and so I looked...and you're also a 10/7 denier and an apologist for the mass-murder of children...so long as they're Jewish children apparently.

a lot of people say "zio" thinking it's just short for "Zionist" & might be reached, but you really are an irredeemable sort of filth.

Wrong.
In most of medieval Europe, Jews were barred from owning lands or entering skilled-trade guilds. "forcing Jews to become moneylenders" & "banning Jews from trades OTHER than moneylending" is a distinction without a difference.

I guess it's always the ones you most expect who say this shit.

They spent so long pursuing profits, even at the expense of environmental health and workers' rights, that they got their priorities mixed up. They're not so much pro-industry as anti-environment and anti-worker. See: Trump policy on efficiency standards.

Given that they're still going on about how they're going to bring back coal AND fracking (the shale gas boom fracking enabled is a big part of why market forces are pushing out thermal coal) I'm not surprised at the incoherence.

It's got slightly more blood relations and slightly fewer found family relationships than the typical superhero team and mfs lose their mind.

Weeeell some of them. The Emperor Seamounts aren't going to erupt ever again, but some "extinct" volcanoes in places that still have active magmatic systems nearby could potentially come back to life.

I think most people have no idea how many active volcanoes there are.

Is it just me or is all the whining coming from reactionary media weirdos? Like, has Clark herself claimed she's being treated unfairly?

It's all just Monday morning quarterbacks, right?

"common mis-transcription"
I wonder if there's any medical analogue for a simple mis-transcription causing big problems down the line?

Anyway, mixing up similar words like glycine/glycerol, adenine/adrenaline, or plasma/plasmid is a good way to endanger patients. Lightning-bug vs. the lightning.

Transition layer depth over the Phanerozoic.

Nowadays, animals till the seafloor. They make holes, eat the organic matter buried there, and flush the sediment with water. But this system had to evolve through the Phanerozoic into its current form, with a few ups and down along the way. ๐Ÿงชโš’๏ธ

Three logicians enter a bar.
โ€œBeer for everyone?โ€ asks the barman.
โ€œI don't know,โ€ says the first logician.
โ€œI don't know,โ€ says the second.
โ€œYes!โ€ answers the third.

The reverse of "Teach the Controversy". Instead of pretending a basic fact is subject to heated debate, they're taking something we actually need to talk about and insisting it be swept under the rug.

"Race...breeds obsession & discord, preventing us from getting along. Why race holds such subversive power, & why it divides us, is never broached, of course, because that context & history (genocide, pillage, slavery, segregation, mass incarceration) might, if accurately recounted, be 'divisive.'"

And in a footnote:
"We don't say in the paper what happened to the 25th ant, but the fact is it escaped."

It's a great reminder of how science is a messy process, how there's all sorts of weird goings-on behind the nice neat writeup in a journal. It's all very human.

Yeah, it's an essential read!

One of my favorite bits is in a chapter about ant lions and how they feed on chemically defended ants...he excerpts a paper of his describing feeding 25 pre-weighed ants to repletion on sugar syrup, weighing them, and then feeding 24 of them to pre-weighed ant lions.

Thomas Eisner explains in his book "For Love of Insects" that the spray contains a bit of caprylic acid, a greasy long-chain compound which helps the mixture soak through the waxy cuticle of insects and arachnids. A bit of acetic acid is a nuisance to an ant; with caprylic acid too, it's noxious.

It's crazy how much AI is like the your worst coworker.
