I know it is popular to be all “this is the country of the bad people who elected the bad man and love the bad war” but I think people are complex everywhere and that dehumanizing “the enemy” is generally not helpful at all

I can say this confusion certainly exists in Hebrew. But it's not dissimilar from the misuse of the term "human right" to describe anything someone thinks they should have.

I've often been astounded by people who can both say "we will never surrender! They can never take away our spirit!" but also believe "we will beat them into submission and they will beg to surrender to us!".

I've yet to meet a diaspora Iranian (ethnic Persian, not Jewish) who supports the regime. Even devout muslims. This is such a ridiculous take.

The quoted text claims jews in Iran have more rights than "deported" Jews in Israel do, expect for westerners. I assume by Westerners they mean Ashkenazi. However, there is no difference in rights between Ashkenazi and Sepharadic (middle eastern) Jews in present day Israel.
