Weaponize those constructs against the individuals who identify within the construct, but ignoring them completely can be potentially very insulting to a lot of people. I'm about hospitality and community. For me to behave otherwise would be antithetical to who I am as a person.

As a white person to practice such a thing feels at best appropriative and at worst downright vile to me. Again I'm not going to tell anybody how to do their practice or live their life. I do not think I do not understand the concepts you're offering to me. I do. It isn't for me.

Correct. However I live in a society with people. I do not wish to give offense nor do I have the cultural understanding of why certain things are the way they are within a particular practice. I'm not telling you not to do what you're doing, I'm telling you that it's not for me.

I was given to understand that it's a close practice and as a bald-bearded middle-aged white man from the Midwest, it would not be a good look on me. I am North pagan though which lends plenty of opportunity for me to get curse-y.

Oh, absolutely. Then the next right thing os take a break. Take a bath, drink a latte, scream at the sky. Self-care is crucial.
