Here's my boy Louie, 8 months old and growing up into a fine young dude. We think maybe he's stopped growing (for now); his weight has leveled off at 55 lbs, which is plenty big enough for us.

We found these #fossils at the Stonerose fossil bed in Republic, WA about 15 years ago. It's a 48 million-year old shale outcrop where (for a small fee) you can go split rocks apart; nothing like fossil-hunting to make you feel like a kid again.
These are maybe Serviceberry and Bald Cypress leaves.

Beautiful view over a small sub-alpine lake, under a mostly overcast sky. Bright golden Larch trees and low green heather shrubs are in the foreground, while distant mountains are partially obscured by a light rain shower.

Two grey-colored one-person tents are set up together, overlooking Snowy Lakes and the surrounding mountains. Golden Larch and green sub-alpine Fir trees frame the foreground. Distant peaks can be seen in the background under an overcast and threatening sky. A storm rolled through later that night, hitting us with strong winds and light rain, but our tents held up and we stayed dry. Next morning was cloudy but the threat of rain had passed, and we had nice weather for the hike back out.

We hiked up to Snowy Lakes for our second camp.

An elegant courtyard within an old monastery. The space is surrounded with pillars and arches.

Sorrento is beautiful but is also a busy tourist town, and surprisingly noisy with traffic. Here is a street filled mostly with dozens of parked motorcycles and scooters.
