I know a lot of people have been struggling with stuff lately, myself included. It's difficult to see so many people that I care about struggle in so many different ways and not being able to help them do anything about it.

I'll often get a little dopamine bump right when my brain registers that a #minecraft build is complete. I can say with 99% confidence that my Halloween build for the #AstraeaSMP server is ready. Now to wait ten days for show and tell. 🎃

All the while, she's still picking the keys to "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star." My laughter sounds like an asthma attack.

Rounding the end of the aisle, we see an older woman who, at the risk of sounding judgmental, looked worn out. Think years long chain smoker, tanned a lot in their youth, and it caught up to them, etc. This is just to help you paint the mental image. 2/4

So we're at Costco, around the toy/Christmas area. Costco tends to have larger items out for demo purposes. We hear a small piano being played nearby; nothing amazing, just some "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." 1/4

UPDATE: it was delicious.

It's certainly not perfect, but I don't get many chances to bake a cake and wanted to challenge myself this time around.

I came up with the flavor profiles myself, so hopefully it tastes good when we slice into it later. 🤞

My birthday is on the 27th; another Sam in my group had his on the 7th. Today the friend group will be "Sam-ebrating" so I decided to bake a cake.

This is a #milkbar style cake with a pumpkin cake + chai soak. The rest consists of a molasses sauce, cream cheese frosting, and strudel crumbs.

I *maaay* have gone overboard on this cake. We'll see the results in 12+ hours.

Accidentally overheated the molasses sauce I was working on for a cake. I poured the sauce onto a parchment paper-lined tray and sprinkled flaky salt on it. I now have a sheet of tasty molasses caramel candies. 😁

"Having stingy hands after grabbing the hot silverware that just came out of the dishwasher's sanitize cycle" is a very specific and very real first world problem that I've just experienced.
