Looperlative Audio Products Menu

New website launched at looperlative.com which as of today also has support chats. LPPad is still on the way. 50 sets of electronics have been delivered.

Phew! Finished up some new software upgrades. The goal was to expose functionality already in the LP1 software but currently only available on the LP1. LooperlativeConfigure has been updated to enable various things including a basic drum machine. Much testing still to be done.

New hardware arrived. Will try it out this weekend and hopefully will be reaching out to beta testers during next week.

That is a first. I added a new tab to support displaying the configuration of the looper, and the Mac version compiled without any complaints. Usually the Windows compiler is less picky about certain code patterns. As a result, I usually clean things up when I move back to the Mac.

Gradually making my way through my testing. Slight changes to the circuits today to give software more control. Refining the box design for cleaner look. Next week will be built-in configuration to make the pad easier to use from the start.

Beginnings of the UI working. Lower right button is a bank select allowing pad to generate any of 120 different MIDI notes to the LP1. Track status appear in the left two columns. More status to come in the remaining LEDs, but not there, yet. Also, rotation of keypad possible.

Getting closer. This runs the LP1 software with the standard 8 stereo tracks. It weighs only 318g (11.2oz). Buttons are lighted to show status and functions are programmable. Have a little more software to do and then I'll create a video.

Looperlative software version 3.10
This is a short description of the new features in version 3.10. Looperlative software version 3.10

Looperlative version 3.10 released. New features include setting main output gain, mono/stereo input, MIDI beats per measure for MIDI sync recording, and user define beat patterns. More can be learned from the video:

How mature is Looperlative? The joint code base for all the Looperlative LP1 and LP2 products is now at 70,000 lines of code.

I'm busily writing a new feature to allow user created patterns to enhance the ostinato feature. It will allow creation of up to 8 remembered user-defined patterns of between 4 and 64 segments. Want a pattern in 13ths? No problem. Audio can be scrambled or not.

Trying out AI-assisted programming to see if it makes me faster. Instead of typing everything, I now let the computer type and then I spend my time fixing all its mistakes. 😞

Trying out a new manufacturer for the LP2. Will stuff the parts that they didn't have in stock by hand and then try the new board this weekend. If all goes well, we could see a price drop on the LP2 in the near future.

Good progress over the last week. AFAICT, my rewrite to support low-latency audio on the RPi is completely working. I'm using it daily and will be version 4.xx when I release it. Also, submitted a build to a new PCB supplier. This should make it easier for me to make future new designs.

Been a while since my last post because I've been busy working on sub-1ms latency for the Raspberry Pi looper. I'm now in a testing phase, but preliminary results are good using a latency from in to out of less than 400 microseconds.

Sorry for the delays. 3.08 firmware and Windows application are online, but the Mac version is delayed. After a recent update on my Mac, my builds no longer worked because I was building on an iCloud-backed directory. I will get a release and video out within a day or two.

Going through the process of preparing the next software release. I'm hoping to have the release and a new video ready at the beginning of the new year. 2025 is the 20th anniversary of the release of the LP1. Hoping to have some more new releases in 2025.
