Rainbow 🌈 & red–green 🛑❇️ colormaps distort gradients, create artificial boundaries, & exclude readers with #ColorVision deficiency. They quantify visual error & argue for perceptually uniform, #CVD friendly colormaps👍

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Interpolate between two matrices, plot eigenvalue trajectories in the complex plane. Gershgorin's theorem guides matrix design so eigenvalues form a Christmas tree. Yellow stars are the eigenvalues of the two endpoint matrices.
