It's a good time to remind folks that Senator Cory Booker understands how the oppression of humans is intrinsically linked to the oppression of animals and that we'll never end one without the other. ✊

Sadly, this is part of the answer to the question "Why do people oppress others?"
While there's a myriad of reasons we choose to oppress others, we have to face the grim reality that some of us simply enjoy it.
We're entering another age of massive oppression and exploitation across class, race, gender, ability and species.
Every one of us will be affected. It's more important than ever to get creative in our methods of resistance, of protest, and of alignment with intersectional groups.

This is such a lovely story (despite the killing of innocents part) it's wonderful to see neighbors supporting and nourishing each other in this time of chaos. It's like a spiritual nutrition using actual nutrition! ❤️

Poor people want cheap eggs
Animals are exploited and stressed to deliver
Disease festers in exploitation
Egg prices go up
Poor people want cheap eggs
Oppression of animals has public health and human rights implications...

It's hard to imagine a lofty goal like outsmarting oppression while our national house is on fire (set by half of us) but we have to try to look for opportunities that may arise out of the difficulty. Use rage to our advantage.
We think of oppression as a disease to be cured.
Historically, resistance movements have treated the individual symptoms of the disease that harm our daily lives. While these treatments are critical for our survival, we must also endeavor to cure the disease by addressing the root cause.
Happy New Year! 🎉
The National Council on Oppression is bringing together people from every community who recognize that all oppressions are intrinsically linked and that solving for one means solving for all.
Let's #OutsmartOppression in 2025!
Treatment courts are generally much more cost-effective than keeping individuals incarcerated in prison for extended periods. The emphasis on treatment and rehabilitation can be both a more humane and financially efficient approach.

And yet...
Likelihood of going to prison: Around 70-80% of eligible drug offenders.
Likelihood of being referred to treatment court: Around 20-30% of eligible drug offenders.
How can we turbocharge systemic change like this?
"Schools should be palaces. [Teachers] should be making six-figure salaries. Schools should be incredibly expensive for government and absolutely free of charge to its citizens, just like national defense.
I just haven't figured out how to do it yet."
- Sam Seaborn
It is imperative that we address the root of all oppression holistically and inclusively across all living creatures — at the intersections of race, gender, ability, nationality, sexuality, religion, and species.

Non-violent alternatives to policing are the future, like Crisis Intervention and Violence Interruptors to name a few. What else can we do to replace police over time?
“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world.”
- Angela Davis
Why haven’t we overcome oppression?
Is it because something in our human nature causes us to subjugate, even while we might be experiencing violent oppression against our own bodies?
Or could incentives — financial or otherwise — counteract our more primitive impulses?
“You make progress by implementing ideas.”
- Shirley Chisholm
Still the best post-election analysis to date. No matter what Dems do to retool in future cycles, ignoring the ambiance of information phenomena will be fatal.
How can we leverage this as a strategy to #OutsmartOppression?
Human side-effects of animal oppression are vast, tragic and most importantly, avoidable.

We’re addressing the root cause of all oppression, acknowledging that we can’t solve one until we solve all forms of subjugation. The solutions must consider our most primal need to dominate the other.
