French Studies at MIC, Limerick

Many thanks to Dr Mairead Ni Bhriain and Dr Anissa Bennaïli from our department who prepared some fun workshops for our young visitors.

Delighted to take part in the Languages Connect #ThinkLanguages week yesterday in a celebration of linguistic diversity and language learning at Mary Immaculate College, Ireland. We welcomed almost 100 TY students from 3 post-primary schools who engaged in a number of language workshops. 1/2

Huge thanks to the LAI for fostering such an inspiring space for dialogue around literacy in all its evolving, multimodal forms. 4/4

This feels especially timely as modern foreign languages are introduced within Ireland’s redeveloped Primary Curriculum Framework, opening new possibilities for creative, inclusive, and multilingual classrooms. 3/4

Their paper explored how multimodal and embodied approaches through music can enrich language learning and engagement in the primary classroom. 2/4

Dr Mairéad Ní Bhriain was delighted to share findings from the CeoLingua research project at the Literacy Association of Ireland(LAI) annual conference with her co-authors Dr Francis Ward (DCU) and Dr Orfhlaith Ní Bhriain (UL). 1/3
