Beyond words!

Establishing participatory democracy - both within the party and the country as a whole - needs to be owned as one of the biggest priorities for Labour.

The current total disregard for it (deservedly) threatens the party's future.

I am pleased the Government has done another u turn.

Attempting to cancel elections, on top of scrapping jury trials, mandatory ID cards, criminalising peaceful protest and harassment of journalists is part of a disturbing authoritarian trend of this caretaker Prime Minister.

A black protest poster with bold white and green text.

At the top, the words "MARCH TOGETHER" appear in large white block letters. Below this, a white horizontal banner contains the text "6 WEEKS TO GO!" in bright green. Underneath the banner, the words "AGAINST THE FAR RIGHT" are written in large white block letters.

Toward the bottom, a green hand-drawn oval circles the details: "Saturday 28th March, Central London." At the very bottom left, there is a QR code and the text "Add your name: togetheralliance.org.uk." On the bottom right, the word "TOGETHER" is written in a stylized, outlined font.

The poster is slightly wrinkled and appears to be pasted onto a wall over other papers.

Early Day Motion 2749: Public inquiry into Epstein links

Motion text:
That this House stands with Jeffrey Epstein’s victims whose relentless courage and pursuit of justice has led to the publication of the Epstein files; notes with concern the number of British public figures included in these files; recognises that child sexual abuse on this scale is likely to have involved not only those directly perpetrating the abuse but other individuals who were complicit in a number of ways, including by ignoring this abuse or covering for those perpetrating it; and urges the Government to set up an independent, statutory inquiry into the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and British public figures and institutions, whether they had involvement in or awareness of his crimes, what action they took or failed to take, whether they assisted in covering up child sexual abuse, and if due diligence was undertaken in the case of any appointments to public roles.

We need an independent inquiry into the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and British public figures and institutions, and whether they had involvement in or awareness of his crimes, assisted in covering up child sexual abuse, and if due diligence was done for appointments to public roles.

The UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is about to be thrown from office by his own party. Probably in the next 24hrs.

Not because he’s in the Epstein files, but because he hired someone who was.

That Trump remains President (largely unchallenged) will stain America’s global reputation for 100 years.

09.02.2026 13:54 β€” πŸ‘ 402    πŸ” 102    πŸ’¬ 20    πŸ“Œ 6

This one surprised me. I definitely expected a majority to want Starmer to go. That 51% though probably includes a fair number who are instinctively loyal to a incumbent Labour leader - hopefully doesn't mean they'd vote for someone similar in a leadership contest.

09.02.2026 11:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The daft thing is that with Proportional Representation there'd be no need for this self-destructive war within Labour. It could split into its component parts - left and right - and people could vote for what they wanted. It's only First-Past-the-Post that forces these irreconcilables together.

Yes, absolutely!

And the extent and power of Mandelson's networks actively undermining Corbyn - showing all he was up against - warrants some re-assessment of how skilled a leader Corbyn was too.

Mandelson’s malign influence runs right through the heart of this Government.

Not least in the govt’s NHS data deal with Palantir – a spy-tech firm co-founded by a man who thinks the NHS should be β€˜ripped up.’

I've written to Wes Streeting urging him to ditch this dangerous deal.
