Thank you for speaking truth to power. We need such bravery in times like these.

How are you a man? Or whatever you are? If you say it’s just the plumbing between your legs, you are a little girl or a little boy. Not a man or a woman.

That’s assuming a lot of trans women. Even if they had some non-standard equipment, no trans woman is going to want to draw attention to that. And there are laws against lewd behavior either way. When trans women are in showers, and still have a male appendage, they should have a curtain. Easy.

You aren’t effective in having this dialogue with me, and your ineffectiveness in such a limited format makes me dubious of any success you might have on the national stage. I’m all for you defending trans rights, yet I suspect your methods will backfire, as they do when you try to write sentences.

I’m sure you were there. A true elder in the trans community ;)

Straw man argument. I never said any of the words you are putting in my mouth. People who resort to fallacies in order insult people are not to be taken seriously in conversation. And you clearly haven’t bothered to understand my original point. Should I be impressed?

And for the sake of rational discussion, I was comparing you to Sarah McBride, not to me. Because that’s what my post was about, and that’s who you were initially griping about. But rationality doesn’t seem to be your strength.

You are making all sorts of irrational claims about me. If that makes you feel better or somehow
more valid, then I think you need to find a better way to boost your self esteem. It’s not going to help us make progress. Nor is fighting amongst ourselves.

Also, I’d just like to point out that we are talking about Sarah McBride, who is the first trans woman in congress. I’ve known about her for almost a decade as she has publicly fought for our rights. If you are so successful in your activism, it seems strange that I’ve never heard of you.

In all seriousness, activists who can only respect soundbites and momentary civil disobedience, will empower their adversaries, add fuel to negative stereotypes, be manipulated like pawns on a chessboard, and do little to advance progress. There is a time & a place for civil disobedience.

Take your own advice.

We need Jackie Robinson right now, not the angry woman in a GameStop. McBride could earn short term adulation for performative activism & play into the attempt to bait her and make her look unreasonable & privileged. But if she is more of a lady than the transphobes, then she can win the long game.

Recently, I was patriotic & hoped that my country truly championed liberty, equality and the pursuit of happiness. I look back at a citizen who believed in government “by the people” & “for the people.” But I was holding on to promises from another age. A “shining city on a hill” has gone dark.

We need to resurrect Jimmy Hendrix for a good old fashioned guitar burning.

With age, some minds fossilize. Instead of being alive with youthful curiosity and vigor, their thinking solidifies into stony shapes: rigid ideologies, frozen caricatures of prejudice and disinformation under heavy layers of ignorance. Their opinions are inert relics trapped in Paleozoic sediment.
