I always used to be much better with song titles than I am now - but that’s probably down to my age ☹️

Damnit - just checked & it’s actually called Sweet Harmony. I always thought it was called Come Together

A forgotten classic.

A network holding such sensitive material shouldn’t even be connected to the outside world. It certainly wouldn’t be allowed to in industry - it’s just the government that can circumvent its own rules

Others have suggested pubs but they’re declining in popularity these days. They’re still great (when done well) but will they survive?
I would say tho - beer. I’ve not found anywhere that does beer as well as us.
And Music. Only the US rivals us for popular music.

These are brilliantly bonkers, each more weird than the one before

Definitely remember my Dad reading:

Wilbur Smith
Desmond Bagley
Alastair Maclean
Len Deighton
Hammond Innes
Nevil Shute
Frederick Forsyth (but only after I started reading him)

Don’t remember him reading others mentioned on this thread tho

Has anyone else noticed the striking similarity between The Thunderbird’s arch-villain, The Hood, and the BBC Defence Correspondent, Jonathan Beale. Could they be related?

I feel Southend and Bognor are long overdue representation in these (I love them all tho) - 2 towns with a special significance for me

I’ve just put up a light fitting that we bought 17 years ago & has remained in its box since we got it. We’ve been in this house for 13 years & the light fitting replaces a bare bulb that’s been there since we moved in.
Is this some sort of record?

I’m a heathen and use a food processor to mix the flour & butter coz I can’t be arsed with the rubbing. And I use self raising flour not plain - the acidity of the bicarb gives it a nice edge to the sweetness (this was my mum’s tip). And I don’t use oats - again coz my mum didn’t.

This is sad. I loved David’s books.

Time for a repeat showing of Nice Work in tribute

I was ridiculously fortunate (& a fair few quid poorer) to see Paul McCartney at the O2 on Wednesday- & he was superb. Here’s a couple of typically rubbish photos I took…
