I had this exact rant w someone earlier this week. That and the toolbars being broken into blobs. Looks so distracting and not scalable at all. Always thought MacOS was close to perfect the way it is, atleast the general stuff.

I’m really really hoping they they keep the reduce transparency option in as they do now on iOS 18. I can barely stand the semi transparent control centre, let alone a full-on Windows Vista travesty.

Apple rips off @raycast.com and still fumbles the bag with those god awful paddings and corner radiuses πŸ‘πŸΌ

This ain’t even about a revenue stream, this is Figma prepping for an IPO next year. Pretty sure they’ll kill it a lot of these releases in the next couple of years in true Google fashion.

That was for Figma Make, not Sites.

Absolutely love this. Really hoped more digital creatives spoke about and cared about more than typography and desk setups. This is definitely the right tree.

Actually you have a point lol. But if you really pretend that the other verticals don’t exist, you could get away with using them just for one thing. I still use Cron as my daily calendar but have moved out of Notion completely, and they haven’t really pulled me back into it.

As much as I hate their ethos (I loved both Cron and Skiff before Notion bought them out and devolved their branding) they’re prolly the only ones sticking their original idea prop.

I think calendar apps (productivity apps in general) are notoriously hard to monetise, and the Amie guy seems to be shooting to scale / exit. Only way I can explain the pivot.

Isn’t this literally the plot of The Beekeeper (equally shite movie) but with a different blue collar job? Ffs, Ayer.

The said technical debt will create more jobs than LLMs will ever replace, hence causing what I call the the vibe spiral.

Just to be clear, people don’t hate AI.

People hate other people who stupidly praise AI for things it can not do, people who trained AI on stolen data and people who move money into AI with a purpose of firing people who do a better job than AI.

Why is "Studio Ghibli" or "Wes Anderson" like the only descriptors people lacking any creativity seem to be able to reference

If we had a cent for everytime a tech bro sat down and thought about what impact their new thingymajig would have on the wider society, we’d have like …2 cents.

A lot of this is just filtering noise, and might not even be an attempt at malice but if I saw my life’s work getting ripped off by something that my moral compass doesn’t align with at all, I’d have serious problems with it πŸ˜•

The new style on the interweb with the whole blueprint + pixel + monospace is actually quite refreshing, been loving β€˜em <3

Out-of-your-face AI - Zed Blog From the Zed Blog: Making Zed's edit predictions appear only when holding a modifier key, instead of as you type.

Interesting to see a code editor offer an option to still make AI available but tone down how intense it is zed.dev/blog/out-of-...

Even with it, I think had to do with whether the site is an SPA, and it’s pretty much a Chromium thing I guess

Firefox is Finally Adding Support for Web Apps A few months back Firefox announced it was finally adding support for Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) after years of ignoring its own user's requests to do

> web apps in Firefox will not use a minimal browser frame and will continue to show a main toolbar with address bar, extensions, bookmarks

I don't really understand this, there's no practical use for this if the window frame isn't minimal

26.03.2025 20:43 β€” πŸ‘ 81    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 9    πŸ“Œ 0

Some apps are kinda stubborn about not dropping a native app, like Webflow for instance β€” where a PWA is the only option close enough to skip cycling tabs.

Raycast - Your shortcut to everything A collection of powerful productivity tools all within an extendable launcher.

I’m blown away by all the things that @raycast.com does and I don’t even feel like I’ve scratched the surface yet. It goes deep! But even if you *just* use it as a Spotlight replacement, it’s so much faster than Apple’s built-in solution.
