Takeaways from Dallas ICE shooting press conference:

FBI investigating as targeted violence.
Rounds found near suspected shooter, who died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds, have messages that appear "anti-ICE in nature."
No law enforcement were injured.

The 24yo used an AR-style rifle with a suppressor to kill 3 cops, wound 2 more, & kill his ex's dog.

These weapons of war make all of us less safe - including law enforcement, domestic violence & stalking survivors, & beloved pets.

“Government officials cannot attempt to coerce private parties in order to punish or suppress views that the government disfavors.”

The CAP article also mentions how the Trump admin recently cut more than half of federal funding for gun violence prevention programs and the FY 2026 budget request eliminates all funding for firearm injury and mortality prevention research grants.
