The night side is subtly illuminated as well. Io's surface is marked by dark splotches and tall mountains that cast shadows.
How niiiiiice is the latest image of Jupiter’s moon Io (the volcano moon where Anakin turned into you know who).
This image, captured by NASA’s Juno spacecraft from ~1500km above Io was only taken on Feb 3 this year.
Io is an excellent moon (side judgy eyes at you, Phobos)
