The Ensoniq EPS 16+ belongs to the generation of the first affordable samplers for everyone. It was replaced many years ago, but I still have its predecessor (EPS with 13 bits) standing upright between the flight cases in the warehouse.

Korg / ARP Odyssey desktop version. This synth was only a brief guest in my studio and soon left me again. The sound was okay, but I didn't particularly like the rest of it.

I found another Polaroid picture of my old modular corner. That must have been in 1981 and was also taken in the basement studio in Götzenhain.

Since I've been asked about it several times, I'll show you my complete NED Synclavier S2 system here. It's a pure FM synthesizer and therefore doesn't need the big towers with the hard drives. For samples, I had two Kurzweil K-250s, three Ensoniq EPSs, and the Fairlight III.

The small one didn't have enough voices for me. It was only here in the studio for two days, then it had to leave me again. Both are great synths for little money.

Here is my modular corner in the SynxsS studio in Dreieich-Götzenhain.
The picture was taken around 1979/1980.
Here you can see: Roland TR-808, Roland System 100M (3x #191) and System 100 (#101, #102, #104), Roland #184 4-Voice Keyboard, Roland MC-8 Micro-Composer, and Marantz LS-17A monitors.

Note the ADAT on the table, which we used to record our gig back then. I always taped my set list to the bottom of the synth with gaffer tape.
