Community groups furious Coalition nuclear plan would go ahead even if locals oppose it Critics of policy say residents should be ‘very angry’ they will not be able to veto generators in their towns despite promise to consult them

'There is a “growing backlash” to the Coalition’s nuclear plan, with community gps furious at the lack of consultation & angered that the policy won't give local communities the power of veto & that nuclear plants would be built regardless of local opposition.'

Over the last four years, multinational gas companies made $170 billion exporting gas they got for free.

It's a fantastic deal for Big Gas, and a terrible deal for Australians.

I.R.S. Agrees to Share Migrants’ Tax Information with ICE The agreement is a major departure from the Internal Revenue Service’s efforts to gain the trust of migrants and encourage them to file their taxes.

Breaking News: The IRS agreed to share information with ICE to help locate people for deportation, court records show. This is a fundamental change in the IRS, which had gained the trust of migrants and encouraged them to file their taxes.

There’s a lot of anger in the air right now—rightfully so.

Gvts are failing us, corporations are destroying the planet & those in power would rather protect profit than life.

‘No sign’ of promised fossil fuel transition as emissions hit new high Despite nations’ pledges at Cop28 a year ago, the burning of coal, oil and gas continued to rise in 2024

What are we doing?

What in the name of your children and grandchildren are we doing?

Who are you voting for? Who are your pensions invested in?

Why isn’t every single one of us working on the one problem that matters, every waking moment?

In the conversations that are starting about the slow-motion collapse of the insurance industry, I hope journalists don't lose sight of the core reason: massive increases in risk from #climatechange.
We're reaping the consequences of politicians failing to heed decades of warnings from scientists.

What will destroy you is not the fires, the storms, the floods—the economic depression, the mass migration, the social collapse, the terror of the fascists. No, what will kill you is knowing you read this article and turned away.
Resist, whilst you still can.

The entire police response to NVDA in Victoria is harsh. This includes: bail conditions designed to discourage further protest, charging nonviolent climate protestors inappropriately with an indictable obstruction charge and police visits to activists’ homes for purposes of intimidation.
