There are countries where being gay is illegal and the punishment is imprisonment and death. In some countries same sex fictional animated characters can't lean on each other. There is work to do in our own countries and more to do to support people in other countries.

It's also problematic to differentiate between autistic people based on perceived intellect and "severity" (of which the Aspergers label is part). It indicates people are "more than" and "less than". Clinical psychology is slowly moving away from that.

Yeah... "Aspies" is also highly problematic. Asperger was a eugenicist who caused many autistic people to be killed, and deemed women and girls as incapable of being autistic due to lack of intelligence. Most of what I know on the subject I've learned from autistic people.

"Isn't untrue" means "is true". I recognise that is an error.

People can use the symbol if they want but they must understand a lot of autistic people seriously dislike it due to the connotations I have repeatedly explained.

It is rejected because of the connotations and the widespread use by non-Autistic people without consulting actually autistic people, and the association with Autism Speaks which as has been said is a highly problematic, and actually dangerous, organisation.
