As a follower of Jesus, I continue to be disheartened by those whose words and actions intentionally belittle, disparage, and dehumanize others who they feel are "less than."

Each year, I raise my glass to her and all those who took the wounds of Pearl Harbor and made themselves into The Greatest Generation! We continue to have much to learn from them!

I believe this is the 10th year that I have shared this story. Each year it seems more important to remember it.

For Indigenous People's Day, I remember that I grew up on the land of the Easten Band of the Cherokee and live on the ancestral land of the Neusiok and Lumbee people. Grateful for the care they gave to the Earth. I hope we can honor their legacy.

I have parishioners headed to see Mt. Rushmore tomorrow. They are driving and hoping it's resolved by the time they get there. I asked if they cover up the carvings if there is a shutdown.
