On December 2, 2015, a horrific terrorist attack took the lives of 14 people in San Bernardino.

Today, we mourn, remember and honor those we lost. #SanBernardinoStrong

The bell is rung a final 14 times for this year's ceremony.

The bell is rung 14 times, one for each victim. The bell will be silent for the next 12 months.

There are fewer people here than at the earlier memorial at the Curtain of Courage -- maybe about three dozen at the moment.

Good afternoon.

I'm now at Cal State San Bernardino's Peace Garden, dedicated to the memory of five alumni who were murdered in the Dec. 2, 2015 mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.

Correcting the (I hope obvious) typo: CSUSB's Peace Garden has featured a bell since 2016.

The ceremony over, folks are headed out, gray-faced or wiping away tears.

The name of each of the 14 people murdered is being read out, followed by the bell being rung.

Gonzales: "We never give up, we never back down. ... May we honor those that are lost by living with the same courage and compassion this community has shown for the past 10 years."

Gonzales: "Think of all the people who are not here. Their pain may be too much for them to handle."

Former supervisor, now county assessor Josie Gonzales: "It is an honor to be here today to remember that day and the days thereafter. ... That day crested a painful scar that we still carry with us."

About 100 people gathered here today, many of them county staff. Thirteen of the 14 people murdered worked for San Bernardino County.

Hagman: The county has commissioned a bell as a new memorial, which will be rung in remberance of the 14 killed.

Cal State San Bernardino has had something similar since 2006.
