I'm back with a new stat...

Introducing Possession Value Added (PVA): My take on Statsbomb's OBV and Skillcorner's TIP stats. By leveraging publicly accessible data available by ASA + FotMob, I developed a metric tracking G+ by estimated time in possession (individual) weighted by team strength

Shulman was a true inspiration for so many of us…his ideas will live beyond him and β€” I hope β€” continue to help us use and extend what we know about PCK.

Excited to have been a part of the CAPCSD effort to revise a ten-year old position paper about SoTL in speech path and audiology. Times have changed, needs are different, but advocacy for SoTL scholars is as critical as ever! www.capcsd.org/assets/pdf/c...

1000%. Not only is it indignance-causing, but it marginalizes those who prioritize teaching, filtering into value metrics for what we do in higher ed. So frustrating!

Faculty still wary of AI in classrooms, data shows. Sweeping policies from LSU admin unlikely. Around half of LSU's faculty are wary of the use of AI in the classroom, survey data shows. LSU Provost Roy Haggerty says that shouldn't be seen as a deterrent for its potential or applications.

I don’t disagree…from my experience and from talking to lots of folks about this…most institutions cannot flex quickly enough and at a suitably macro-scale to craft new policy…revising existing policy to address AI might be the most efficient way forward…

This year, I developed rubrics w/ embedded feedback banks. They've made my marking much more time efficient; they've also ensured my students receive the timely & effective feedback they deserve.

My colleagues and I came up with suggested AI usage levels…so I share these with students so they know exactly what is expected in terms of when and how to use AI. For me, it changes assignment by assignment. prodev.illinoisstate.edu/ai/usage/
