Sometimes good things just fade away. Even getting LambdaWorld back for two years was an unexpected surprise. Moving it somewhere else would be a different conference. I'm happy to let it fade away. So many good conferences left us. scala.io, CodeMesh, Curry-On now lambaworld.

Still fuming about the AI keynote from the #Lambdaworld conference this morning. Some audience members asked if there was any risk AI models wouldn't continue to improve and the speaker explained that there wouldn't be vast amounts of money pouring into AI if it wasn't going to keep improving.

Q: "What features of Verse make it particularly suitable for video games?"
A: "None. Tim Sweeney likes working on Verse so we're forcing it on developers."
(I couldn't help but giggle at that.)

Looking forward to Lennart Augustsson explaining how these fun features of Epic Games new functional logic language Verse will make coding Unreal engine games easier. Not entirely convinced yet that he will... but it sure is interesting... #Lambdaworld
