It does make sense to your point to change it to a new title if thats the case, however I could see them using GoW as the main title in reference to THAT universe with those characters & then a subtitle for the game itself (A Giants Tale for example)

I would have thought Ragnorok was the end too if it weren't for the DLC teasing going to other mythology realms perhaps for the next game as Kratos, but i did expect Atreus to take the lead at one point too, even just for DLC or a spin off

If it's about a different character, they usually use the same title with a sub title attached rather than the title on its own or as a new numbered entry.

I naturally assumed the next game would just be Kratos lead as he's always been the main character & it's always been his story. Saying that though, i'd take a prequel game where Faye is the main character of it & we play her story. Would mix it up a bit & has real potential to be great!
