True, but it was obviously an effort to agree to disagree so another topic could be brought up... and Rump wouldn't have it because he knew the guy didn't give in. He had not said yes yet. Rump was digging in for that yes, and he never got it. And it infuriated him.

I disagree. He responds like a guy who is accustomed to everyone around him affirming everything he says under threat, and that look he gives the reporter when he pushes back is a warning- no one undermines me. He doesn't think it's true. He doesn't CARE if it's true. Truth is irrelevant to him.

I think this will push him to territories previously unseen in public, and watching him truly lose his temper and start yelling abuse at the reporter might be perfect. And then he would have to retaliate, and we would watch for that and publicize what he does.
But yeah, his supporters won't care.

I agree. I thought he did a good job of standing up to the lies, and even when he moved on, he didn't placate Rump. We know that because Rump isn't satisfied-- if he doesn't get a full, submissive "yes," he hasn't won yet. Rump was furious AND REMAINED SO. I call that a big win.

I wonder, if Rump actually attempted to be considered for Pope, what his base would say. Besides the obvious insanity this would entail, which is staggering, he's also... not Catholic. And neither are most of his base. Could this finally show them how crazy he is?
