How long before I can hike again?
Hiking? You want to hike? You’ll probably need to have surgery on your knee if you want to hike again.
Hmm… living alone surgery isn’t an option, so baby stepping my way to watch me.

In Once Upon a Wave of Witches by me & @elibisme.bsky.social, Beatrice is married to the sea witch Coral, who is tethered to a lighthouse by a curse while Beatrice is destined to roam. They visit each other in dreams & reunite to rescue one another in a crisis. The most loving couple in my books. 💜

I go to an orthopedic doctor tomorrow to see what he thinks. I do have a park with short trails that I do about half the route, so that works. May both our droughts end. Peace!

It is black with tons of pockets and on the leather strip along the bottom I included some of the lyrics to Freak On A Leash in yellow paint. Above that so far are 3 patches, 2 made from t-shirts. A Beavis and Butthead storyline of Kornholio with a black nu metal tshirt pulled over his head like a hood, a red plaid kilt with one of those kilt purses, blue stockings, black and white sneakers singing into a microphone with a stand of a modern art naked female. He is singing: Boom na da boom noom na nena boom na da boom. It is stitched in place with red embroidery floss, a circular Punks not dead with an anarchy symbol of an A encircled and its stitch is in yellow orange. Last patch so far is cream and black and says Freak on a Leash.
I am lost in my journey with words, no new poems, I never think about reading books, and I am forgetting way too many words. So taking a bit of a break from social media. Working on fabric art instead.

Bright red cardinal flowers. There are individual red bell-like blooms emerging all along a central tall green stem. Other wildflowers can vaguely be seen in the blurred background.

The white flowers are fleabane, I think, and probably considered a weed but they are quite lovely little blooms and seem to attract tiny pollinator people.
The red flowers are bee balm and cardinal flower, super hummingbird attractors!

Taking out the garbage I glanced over at the arborvitae and thought: wtf??? Which one of my neighbors put fried eggs in my yard and why?
On closer inspection they are mushrooms.
This is such a cool book and I recommend it to fans of Redwall and other animal adventures.

I’ve been watching our kelp forests decline across my lifetime and it makes me very sad because kelp is cool as hell and supports a lot of marine life so I made a quilt about it.
